Japan Meteorological Agency on Monday issued a tsunami warning for the coast of Miyagi prefecture, after recording a quake 6.5 degrees on the Richter scale.

Japan Meteorological Agency on Monday issued a tsunami warning for the coast of Miyagi prefecture, after recording a quake of 6.5 magnitude on the Richter scale.
The bureau said it expected the imminent arrival of waves of 50 cm on the coast of Miyagi.
The quake occurred at 07:24 Monday local time (22:24 GMT Sunday), on the coast of Miyagi, at 38.2 degrees north latitude and 142.4 degrees west longitude.
